Russell V. Ross, 92, of Morris, passed away early Monday morning, January 02, 2017 at the American House in Hazel Park, MI.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 09, 2017 at 10:30 am at the Fruland Funeral Home, 121 W. Jefferson St., in
Morris. Visitatiion will be held on Monday from 9:30 am until time of service at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Lincoln
Memorial Cemetery in Aurora. Military honors will be provided by the Morris Color Guard.
Born February 13, 1924 in Omaha, NE, he was the son of Harold and Ameil (Parrant) Ross. He received his education in the
schools of Omaha. Russell was a veteran of W.W.II and served in the U.S. Navy. For several years he was employed at
Montgomery Wards and later at Handy Andy, both in Joliet.
He is survived by his two daughters, Carla (Ben) Ogert Jr. of Montgomery, IL and Sandra (Rev. Michael) Kempton of Hazel
Park, MI; three grandchildren, Wade (Kristine) Kempton, Wesley Kempton and Wynn (Emily) Kempton; three great
grandchildren, Alyvia, Brielee and Leeland Kempton; several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; a son, Scott Ross; two grandchildren; one brother and one sister.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dwight and the Illinois Sheriffs Association.
Memorials may be given to the Animal Welfare Society.
